Hello all
I am here to give you an update regarding the Deaf Resource Centre (DRC).
I will be talking about 3 items today. The DRC Library, Communication Equipment, and
Social Media
With regards to the Library, did you know that we have 6 new books, topics ranging from being Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and Deaf children. If you are interested in borrowing any books you can come visit us at the DRC. We are open Monday through Friday 9 am – 3 pm and are located in Deaf Centre Manitoba, 101-285 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg Manitoba and we would love for you to come visit us here!
In addition to the new books, we have current news articles and items that are printed that are available to borrow as well. We have news articles, journals, research articles, and newsletters available on a number of topics such as Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Human Rights, Deaf History, etc. We even have some older content. You are welcome to borrow these items or simply come in and have a sit and read them while you are here.
Regarding the communication equipment we have a number of devices you might be interested in. We have phones that have the ability to turn up the volume louder, we have visual alarm systems that includes a shake awake system, we have doorbells and fire alarms that come with flashing lights, to name a few.
With regards to social media DRC and DCM Inc. have several social media platforms. We have information on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. These platforms distribute ASL news.
Did you know DCM Inc.’s website will be rolling out soon? Keep an eye out for that.
