COVID-19: CUSTOMER UPDATE 3
Thursday, April 9, 2020
I’m Pamela, Community Relations Manager.
I hope you are all doing well.
Many of you have asked if you can have easier access to provincial tele-health services during this COVID-19 pandemic. These services can be reached by dialing 811, in some provinces, from landlines and some cell phones. However, they cannot be reached by Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or internet-based telephone services like, Canada VRS.
However, most of the provinces have a 10-digit telephone number that can be used to reach the provincial health help line directly.
During COVID-19, and in an effort to make it easier for Deaf Canadians to reach their provincial health help line CAV has created and is publicly sharing a list of provincial 10-digit numbers.
Please note: While CAV staff has worked to ensure the accuracy of this list, some numbers may change or may not work from your calling area. Please keep your provinces 10-digit number updated and saved in your Canada VRS app contact list or directory.
Please stay safe and continue to follow the health guidelines of the authorities.
