Seven-Eleven Canada's announcement during COVID 19

Dear Valued Customer,

As a neighbourhood store and convenient delivery provider in so many communities, 7-Eleven Canada is monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) closely to prioritize the health of our customers and employees across our 636 stores in Canada.

First and foremost, we’ve enhanced our standards and procedures for hygiene, handwashing, sanitation, food handling and preparation in stores, and increased the frequency of cleaning high-touch surfaces. We are in communication with federal and provincial health agencies and officials. We are reviewing updates from the World Health Organization; and we are sharing guidelines from the Public Health Agency of Canada with stores.

Additionally, we are taking the following steps to keep our people safe and our facilities clean:

  • • Alerting employees to the importance of staying home if individuals have any symptoms of the COVID-19 illness or if they feel sick.
  • • Displaying hygiene posters in high-traffic areas in stores.
  • • Temporarily discontinuing the use of personal cups for hot and cold dispensed beverages.
  • • Working with vendors and suppliers to stock stores with high demand, essential products and making them easy for you to find.
  • • Demonstrating to you and the communities we serve that we are here to provide quality products at fair and honest prices.

To support the communities that we serve, we ask that you please consider shopping with us only when you are feeling well.  As a convenient alternative to in-store shopping, 7-Eleven also offers delivery to over 11 million Canadians in over 5 million households through the UBER Eats and Foodora delivery apps.

We’re committed to providing you with what you want, when and where you want it. We’ve been a leader in the convenience industry in Canada for 51 years, and we’ll keep working hard every day to earn your trust and your business. If you have questions or suggestions, please reach out to our customer service team. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support during this time, and for making 7-Eleven Canada part of your daily life.

Sincerely,

Norman Hower
VP & GM, 7-Eleven Canada

Dear Valued 7-Eleven Canada Customer,

As the world takes unprecedented measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the health of our customers and team members remains our top priority. We are taking enhanced steps at our 7-Eleven Canada stores to provide you with the same essential products you need in a safe and clean environment.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures
  • We’re implementing temporary precautionary measures for all fresh food offerings including:
    • All open-air, self-serve fresh food items are now clerk-served.
    • Fresh baked goods are now sold pre-packaged.
    • The fresh condiment bar has been replaced with a selection of pre-packaged condiments.
  • The use of personal cups for hot and cold dispensed beverages has been temporarily discontinued; we’ve removed refillable cups from sale; and halted all food and beverage sampling and refilling programs.

  • We’re requesting that customers practice social distancing in stores by standing one to two metres apart. Customers are now guided with social distance floor markings;

  • Store associates are now managing reduced capacity limits for customer traffic in stores;

  • We’ve enhanced our standards and procedures for hygiene, handwashing, food handling and preparation in stores and increased the frequency of cleaning high-touch surfaces.

  • We’ve recommended that stores limit the sales quantities per customer on high demand products including cleaning supplies, paper products and pantry staples.

  • We’re working with vendors and suppliers to stock stores with high demand, essential products and making them easier for customers to find.

  • When fueling up at one of our gas stores, customers can avoid contact with the pump handle and touch screens by using a paper towel.
Supporting Our People
  • We’ve enhanced our paid time off policy for 7-Eleven Canada team members to provide support and comfort to those who fall ill or are potentially at risk of illness.
    • Store team members who may have to self-isolate will do so with pay.
    • We are actively recruiting for many more 7-Eleven Canada team members to meet the increased demand for products and services.
