AWKWARD HUG is a true storytelling show about me, when I was 19 years old I was an awkward introvert in a screamo band, I was going through my first relationship and also learning about the extent of my parents disabilities. Both of my parents have cerebral palsy and the show explores my relationship with them and me learning about their disability as a young adult.
Our show will have 1 ASL interpreted performance on Wednesday July 25th at 1:45pm. This is our first time have an ASL performance in Winnipeg, we are from Vancouver, if you have any resources/information to help us spread the word to communities who would benefit from the performance, if there is anywhere you can share this information or have suggestions of where we can share it, any help would be much appreciated.
We feel it is important for this show to be as accessible as possible, we hope to reach those who would benefit from seeing this show and from having an ASL interpreter for the one performance.
AWKWARD HUG will be presented at Venue 11 - Red River College through the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. You can learn more about the show and how to get tickets on their website: http://www.winnipegfringe.com/performer-detail.aspx?kw=Cory+Thibert
