Previously Announced Opportunities for
Engagement with the City of Winnipeg
North Winnipeg Antenna System Project Public
Information Session
The
City of Winnipeg must remove an existing antenna system, used by a number of
City departments, located at the North End Water Pollution Control Centre
(2230 Main Street), before the end of the year to accommodate the future
expansion of the North End Water Pollution Control Centre scheduled to begin
in 2017.
To ensure there are no gaps in coverage, a proposed antenna system must be built in the vicinity of the existing antenna system by the end of 2016, and prior to its decommissioning. A proposed, lower, 120 metre tall antenna system will be constructed, pending Industry Canada approval of the City’s proposal. Nearby City-owned property at the south east corner of Murray Avenue and Ferrier Street is being proposed as the location for the installation of the proposed antenna system. Any member of the public or organization who wishes to provide questions, comments or concerns in writing must do so by June 26, 2016.
