SRV Canada VRS new website:)
June 2016 Update - SRV Canada VRS
Please click here to watch this announcement in ASL.
In April, we announced the name of the new VRS service, “SRV Canada VRS”, and today, we are announcing a new website http://avlic.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=704ce6b31a1dfd876e3e44037&id=cb61fafe16&e=a62054264d.
Go to the website to learn about the technical requirements and equipment that you will need to use VRS when it becomes available in September.
Also, there are two important features on the new website I’d like to emphasize.
The first is a brief Survey with questions you can respond to help CAV understand how our community will be using the service. For example, choice of language (ASL/LSQ) or which province you live in or what type of equipment you plan to use (pc, tablet or smartphone).
Secondly, in a short video message (ASL or LSQ) tell us how you think VRS will impact your life. Selected videos will be edited and will be included in a short film which will premiere at CAV’s launch event and will also be featured on the http://avlic.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=704ce6b31a1dfd876e3e44037&id=78ca2c905c&e=a62054264d website.
In addition, we’ve begun building new call centres and training Video Interpreters and Customer Service Representatives.
I hope you can feel the excitement. VRS is coming alive! Tell your friends – “SRV Canada VRS – it’s coming!!!”
Thank you,
Sue Decker

North Winnipeg Antenna System Project Public
Information Session
The
City of Winnipeg must remove an existing antenna system, used by a number of
City departments, located at the North End Water Pollution Control Centre
(2230 Main Street), before the end of the year to accommodate the future
expansion of the North End Water Pollution Control Centre scheduled to begin
in 2017.
To ensure there are no gaps in coverage, a proposed antenna system must be built in the vicinity of the existing antenna system by the end of 2016, and prior to its decommissioning. A proposed, lower, 120 metre tall antenna system will be constructed, pending Industry Canada approval of the City’s proposal. Nearby City-owned property at the south east corner of Murray Avenue and Ferrier Street is being proposed as the location for the installation of the proposed antenna system.
