Casual Building Attendants position available at Deaf Centre Manitoba

The Bethania Group is currently recruiting for the position of Casual BUILDING ATTENDANT(s) at Deaf Centre Manitoba located at 285 Pembina Highway.

Deaf Centre Manitoba is a multi-functional facility serving Deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing individuals. This position plays an important role in supporting all of our residents, tenants and staff.

Responsibilities will include ensuring the safety of all tenants, residents and staff in the building at all times. This includes performing regular inspection tours of the entire building and grounds on an outlined basis, as well as following outlined procedures during emergencies and providing direction to others. Communicating with all visitors as required as well as shovelling snow, vacuuming and set-up and take down of equipment as required by facility users.

As the successful candidate, you are a professional dedicated to providing excellent customer service. You have 1-3 years previous experience in a similar role, and you are physically able to perform all the duties including lifting, climbing/descending stairs, shovelling snow and being cognitively aware and alert at all times while on shift. The ability to read, write and speak in the English language is required along with knowledge of ASL (American Sign Language) or the willingness to enroll in the next available course is required.

Previous experience working with people within various communities including deaf, deaf blind and mental health is an asset.
