Jesus tells those listening on the Mount are told they are like the salt of the earth. We learn what it means to “practice righteousness” and to restore beauty in community.

Six weeks into the new year and our resolutions are beginning to feel more like routines than resolutions. The scripture today turn us inward again. They ask us to look deep into our hearts and to investigate what is really true to us.

Matthew 5: 38 – 48
This week’s scripture passages keep our vision on the Holy One. Jesus points to the source of our perfection. Paul reassures us of the foundation that Christ truly is. God reminds Moses that the ability to be holy is a gift to God’s people, as free as God’s love.

Camp Kakepitay Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 26th, 2014 beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Fiola Room at Deaf Centre Manitoba . Be sure to mark this on your calendar. There will be quite a few things to discuss and make some decisions regarding the next two years in preparation for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Camp Kakepitay for 2016. Everyone is invited to come out to the meeting.
