Hosted by Alice Crawford (Deaf Artist for children’s book “Splish, Splat!”) and Gallery Lacosse at Gallery Lacosse, 169 Lilac St., Winnipeg, Manitoba
Selected Prairie Deaf Art will be shown at Gallery Lacosse
from Oct 25, 2013 to Nov 8, 2013 and will be for sale with artists’ permission
NOTE: Selected artists will receive $120.00 for each piece in the show.
(Example: one piece picked by the jury is 1 x $120.00 = $120.00, 3 pieces - 3 x $120.00 = $360.00, etc.)
Cheques will be given out on opening night, October 25, 2013 or mailed out the next day, October 26, 2013.
Who can Enter?
• All Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta Visual Artists.
• Artists must be 16 years of age or older. Under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign for them.
• Artwork must be original.
• All visual arts – painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, printmaking, design, crafts, textiles, and photography. The theme is open.
• Art will be chosen by a panel of professional artists and Gallery Lacosse
Gallery Lacosse decides what art is to go into the show
NO POLITICAL OR SOCIAL POLICY MESSAGES.
• ALL FRAMING for the show MUST BE DONE by GALLERY LACOSSE.
Selected Artists will receive a 40% discount

• Please fill it out and send it back to Alice as soon as you can. This will help keep you up to date with what is happening with the show
Information needed: Artist’s name, address, contact information and artist biography (max 100 words) in a Word or PDF document sent via email acrawford@mmelec.com or
mail to Alice Crawford, 71 Rose Hill Way, Winnipeg, MB R2R 1Z7.
When the Entry Form is received, you will be contacted that it has been received. If you do not hear anything within a week of sending it, contact Alice Crawford at: acrawford@mmelec.com
Submission Deadline
• All information and images (digital photographs or scans) must be received in full by
Friday, August 8, 2013.
• Fill out for each image: artist’s name, title, date, media, and dimensions of work, as well as any special instructions that is needed.
• A maximum of five (5) art works may be sent by each artist for the panel. NO POLITICAL OR SOCIAL POLICY MESSAGES.
• Send art images in a high resolution 300 dpi digital photographs or scans as PDF or JPG for 1 – 5 artworks and either email or burn to a DVD and mail.
• A short artist statement (maximum 100 words) with the artwork in a Word or PDF document.

Notification Deadline
• Artists meeting the submission deadline will be notified of acceptance by Friday, August 25th, 2013.
Delivery Deadline
Tuesday, September 3, 2013 to Gallery Lacosse, 169 Lilac St., Winnipeg, R3M 2S1
Selected art pieces are to be delivered to the gallery for framing
• ALL FRAMING for the show MUST BE DONE by GALLERY LACOSSE.
Selected Artists will receive a 40% discount
Gallery Lacosse will provide:
• E-Mail marketing
• Opening night: Food and Wine
Commission on art sold will be 50% to Gallery Lacosse
Selected Artwork
• All decisions made by the jury panel are final
• The jurors have the right to remove any original work mislead by the digital files.
• No artwork may be taken out from the show until after November 8, 2013.
• Gallery Lacosse has the final say to what art is to go into the show
• The manager of the show has permission to photograph and/or share images of accepted work for publicity, educational and reference purposes.

Art Shipping
• Shipping arrangements and costs for accepted art is the responsibility of the artist. Insurance
• Artists are responsible for paying their own insurance coverage for accepted works while in transit.
•Gallery Lacosse will be responsible for insurance while on display at the gallery.
• Every reasonable precaution will be taken by Gallery Lacosse to handle artwork according to standard professional public exhibition practice.
• Artists have to say how much their art is worth on the Submissions Form
